Fun Fact: I love microbes, and in my next life, I’d love to be one!! :D Fav Product: Synergy pink pomelo lemonade kombucha Storefront Commitee: Our committee focuses on creating a lively, welcoming storefront to improve the member and patron experience. We’re always working closely with the rest of Board to implement the new ideas members share with us!

Fun Fact: I love energy drinks Fav Product: weird yerb! (mystical mint flavor) Board Chair: I create the meeting agendas, make sure all events run smoothly and engage with a lot of internal part of the collective! I also act as one of the main points of contact!

Storefront Coordinator
Fun Fact: I care a lot about infrastructure. Fav Product: any dr. brew kombucha flavor Storefront Commitee: We take care of the physical storefront (beautifying, organizing, etc), training volunteers, and work on strategies for member appreciation!
Tashu Vakil (she/her)
Field Coordinator
Fun Fact: I’ve flown a plane before and I’m planning on getting my pilot’s license soon! Fav Product: The chili lime tortilla chips! Field Commitee: Field Committee is responsible for doing a lot of the advocacy and outreach work to existing members of the collective and to potential new members. We do this mainly through community events and social media collaborations, but also love one-on-one connecting with all of our amazing members!

We help people understand what we do, why our space matters, and encourage them to visit, join our events, and be part of the community :)

Communications Partnerships Coordinator
Fun Fact: I have broken at least 3 toes in my life. Fav Product: Everything Bagel Chips and Joyride Cherry Ropes Partnerships Committee: I am cementing the food collective mission of food justice and labor solidarity into the larger Bay Area organizing landscape. I try to utilize our large member base to engage and partner with aligning community organizations and movements. The goal is to leverage our student power to make the Food Collective politically active and stand in solidarity with food justice campaigns happening locally.

Fav Product: stellar pretzels Communications Committee: The communications committee is in charge of outreach and engagement initiatives with members, especially through channels such as social media. We try to build up awareness of the food collective through promotional content and fun educational videos!
